Dave Rich completed his PhD at the Institute in 2015 and used it as the basis for his book, The Left’s Jewish Problem: Jeremy Corbyn, Israel and Antisemitism (Biteback, 2016, 2018).
His research focuses primarily on left wing antisemitism and the ways in which it intersects with, and diverges from, anti-Zionism and other racisms. The practical focus for this research has been the phenomenon of antisemitism in the UK Labour Party and the way in which different actors inside and outside the Party have addressed and discussed this issue.
Other research interests include the spread of conspiracy theories and the way in which they are mobilised by different extremist movements and ideologies. Recent publications include book chapters about boycotts of Israel, conspiracy theories and antisemitic hate crime.
Dave is Head of Policy at the Community Security Trust.
