David Ranan studied Economics at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem (BA) and Business Administration at the Tel Aviv University (MBA) and holds a PhD from City University London. He is a Fellow of the Zentrum für Antisemitismusforschung, Technische Universität, Berlin.
David Ranan’s «Kirche, Schuld und Synodaler Weg. Was Galileo, die Judenverfolgung und den Missbrauchsskandal verbindet«, will be published in March 2023. In this book, Ranan considers three attempts by the Catholic Church to attempt an apology for its conduct and probes the Church’s capability to take responsibility for its actions and failures.
In his next project, he hopes to be studying issues that some diaspora communities have with their “home” countries. In this context, he will probe changing perceptions of Zionism and Antisemitism, the challenges these pose, and the possible ensuing personal dissonance and dilemmas facing Israeli and non-Israeli Jews.
