Leo Roepert is a sociologist and works as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Department of Socioeconomics at the University of Hamburg. His research interests include Critical Theory, the extreme and populist right, racism, and antisemitism.

His current research focuses on the historical sociology of racism and sociological theories of racism and antisemitism. As a visiting researcher at the Birkbeck Institute for the Study of Antisemitism, he will examine, from a comparative perspective, the analytical potentials and limitations of postcolonial and Marxist theories of racism. He is particularly interested in how both approaches conceptualize the relationship between colonial racism and antisemitism.

He is also editor of Kritische Theorie der extremen Rechten.
