This keynote lecture was given at the Beyond Camps and Forced Labour conference, 10-12 January 2018.

In this lecture Tim Cole explores the gaps within Holocaust scholarship and some of the ways that those gaps have been filled by scholars. In large part, calls for integration have revolved around narrating stories that bring together perpetrator and victim historiographies. But there have also been attempts to better connect histories and memories of the Holocaust in broader chronologies that connect the pre-war, war and post-war worlds. He considers how approaching the Holocaust and Holocaust memory through the lens of place and space might offer new ways of both thinking about the gaps, and also bridging those gaps.
